1932 Eucharistic Congress Flag

This flag was presented to the people of Dun Laoghaire in the Dun Laoghaire Club on Saturday 25 June 2016 by Jane and Geoffrey Metcalf, in memory of Jane's father, Major Joseph Mackesy, (Royal Munster Fusiliers). Major Mackesy had publicly flown this flag during 1932 at his home in Dalkey despite being a member of the Church of Ireland. The flag was accepted by Club President Tom Byrne, for permanent display in Eblana Lodge.
